Sometimes the Big Day Requires Some Good Old DIY

Oftentimes couples search high and low to find the ideal venue for their “I do’s.” For recently married couple Leah and Eric the decision on where to tie the knot was an easy one. The pair knew that the Auburn Christian Fellowship church was perfect. While attending Auburn University Leah and Eric met through this ministry and could not imagine getting married anywhere else.

The only problem was…the building needed a little TLC. Eric phoned his sister in Paris and she flew in a week prior to the big day to help the couple paint the walls, clean the carpets, bring in additional seating and more. Even though they had to roll up their sleeves, the end result was perfect. On May 21, 2011 Leah and Eric said their vows in front of their friends and family and in their newly spruced up church.

After the ceremony, the crowd headed to the Auburn Student Center Ballroom (where thankfully no handy work was needed) to enjoy a warm and festive reception.

Bloomin’ Bouquets had the pleasure of participating in the sentimental event and creating the floral designs. We used hydrangeas, stephanotis, ranunculus, blue veronica, pink freesia, sweet pea, lilies and gardenias for the bridal party’s bouquets, boutonnières and the altar décor.
