2nd Chair

When we started this business we were pleasantly surprised to find out that most other professionals in the event industry are amazingly generous and happy to share their knowledge and energy. Case in point, we were thrilled to be asked to sit “2nd chair" with the floral wizard Tony Witlock of Acorn Home and Garden for one of his events this past weekend.

Our friend and event coordinator extraordinaire, Bridget Baker of Elegant Occasions, suggested Bloomin' Bouquets to Tony for a wedding they were working on together. The event was held at a private home in Reynolds Plantation and was quite the affair! The other vendors we had the pleasure to spend time with were Unlimited Party and Event Rental, Chef Kevin Rathbun, Lush Cakery, Drivetrain Band, CMV Productions, Tickled Ink and Kristy Dickerson. Talk about an all-star lineup!

We followed orders and loved it! We were told exactly what was expected for each arrangement and we didn't have to count stems, read our plans, or make any decisions. It was awesome! We also learned so many new floral tricks. We would share, but we think they are trade secrets!

Serving as “2nd chair” is not for the fainthearted. You don't get lunch, you are expected to haul flowers up and down steep hills, you have to climb tall ladders and hang greenery with stickers, and let's not even talk about bathroom breaks! It was worth it though. Bloomin' Bouquets was honored to have been asked to work with Tony and his team to put together such an incredible wedding! Thank you for the opportunity.

Included are a few photos from my iPhone. Follow Kristy Dickerson for the real-deal photos.
