New Year, New Color Palette

There are lots of things to look forward to in the new year, but probably the thing us flower nerds anticipate the most is the “color of the year” announcement. This year we were excited and a little surprised to find out the color of the year is “Scorched Earth” or golden-yellow! Warm and inviting, golden tones in florals are one of our favorite palettes to work with, although we’ve found in the past yellow tends to be a color most brides avoid when wedding planning. Just like any other event detail, it’s all in the way you utilize a trend so while golden-yellow might not appeal right away to a couple planning their event, we encourage them to think about it as a small detail that compliments their overall aesthetic.

Us industry folks are excited for yellow to take the lead in 2021 not only because it presents something new and challenging design wise, but also because it’s a color that invokes a sunny disposition, a feeling of a brighter future (which let’s be honest, we could all use after ensuing 2020). So we look forward to incorporating golden- yellow into our client’s work while simultaneously lifting people’s spirits with the power of color.

To help our case and prove just how romantic + uplifting yellow can be we’re sharing a few photos from weddings past that include blooms in this color palette. From Rose Golden Mustard to Strawflower to Butterfly Ranunculus, there are endless yellow floral touches that will have you swooning with a positive outlook.
