Bride Micki had some unique and crafty ideas in mind when she
began planning for her big day. She was after a vibrant and vintage look. She
and her groom-to-be Tim selected the Evergreen Marriott Resort in Stone
Mountain as the site of their shabby chic celebration.
The ceremony was held in the resort’s Evergreen Pavilion.
Located on the lake and tucked away in the trees, the pavilion’s rustic stone
fireplace provided the perfect backdrop for the “I do’s.” The aisle was lined
on both sides with lanterns and tall silver containers filled with baby’s
breath. There were also adorable chalkboards created by Micki on the backs of
various chairs informing guests on reserved seating.
Micki’s bouquet included anemone white, brunia silver spray, Aster novi-belgii white, and white double duchess peonies. The stems were wrapped with an off-white ribbon and over-wrapped with lace from mom’s wedding hat.
The groom’s boutonniere consisted of three yellow craspedias and
two brunia silver spray. Tim’s
grandfather’s dog tags were incorporated into both his and his best man’s boutonnieres.
This special touch was very important to Tim as his grandfather passed away a
few years ago and was very dear to him.
The mother or the
bride’s and mother of the groom’s bouquets also included sentimental details.
They each had three charms hanging from them with photos of their wedding days,
their parents’ wedding days and their fathers who have both passed away
Micki and Tim’s reception was held in the resort’s ballroom.
The tables were decorated with various lanterns, as well as pots filled with
yellow and white flowers. Micki creatively used an old window frame to write
out the seating chart and a chalkboard for the head table. Quite the crafter,
Micki even made the table numbers herself!
The newlywed couple enjoyed their shabby chic celebration and
danced the night away. Bloomin’ Bouquets loved being a part of it and couldn’t
be happier for Micki and Tim!
