Lauren + Michael were married at a picturesque church in downtown Dahlonega after the ceremony they celebrated at the equally stunning winery Montaluce. Lauren wanted her bouquet to be unique.   We were able to achieve Lauren's vision by making King Protea the focal point and keeping the stems long, creating the unique look she had envisioned. 

Greenery, Color of the Year

Greenery, the 2017 Pantone color of the year and an absolute favorite here at Bloomin’, also just happens to be a great color foundation for your wedding day. Greenery makes any setting more lush and enhances personals just the same. There are more creative ways to add green into your wedding than the usually runner - all greenery boutonnieres are a sweet touch to add to a handsome suit or tux (by the way, if your looking for a great place to rent a suit or tux check out The Black Tux, you wont be disappointed). Added greenery at a ceremony or reception can make you feel like your outside, without actually having to be. Lastly, adding springs of greenery to each guest place setting or escort cards is a fun and interesting way use greenery on your wedding day.

When To Book Your Vendors

The biggest question a bride asks after she gets engaged is, "What next?" Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but we have teamed up with WeddingWire to provide our brides with the most helpful planning guide of when to book your vendors! 

Our biggest encouragement as a florist (and actually something we will not work without) is hiring a wedding planner. We cannot stress enough how much pressure this relieves the couple and the family of. It creates space for the bride to enjoy the process and also helps us out as vendors by making things cohesive or not having to come to the bride on her wedding day with questions that she should not have to be answering. This also aids you in the rest of your process as planners have so many connections to different vendors and their styles. If you are seeking a particular style florist, they are going to know which direction to lead you in which is going to save you hours of googling florists around your city. We know everyones time is too precious for that during the wedding planning process!

We also love that WeddingWire has put together an extensive list of venues here in Georgia as well as New York City that can be filtered according to capacity, style and setting.

Rich + Mikaela had a sophisticated wedding at Christ The King Cathedral + King Plow. We used lots of pink hues paired with white roses and greenery to create a very simple, yet elegant look. We loved having the smell of lilac and freesia that we used for the bridesmaids bouquets around the studio all week!

Louis + Delta

Louis + Delta were our first wedding of the year in January. We loved that they chose lush winter whites and reds, especially those orchids cascading down the wedding cake! We also loved our first opportunity to work at The Mandarin Oriental and what a gorgeous venue it was. They incorporated their sweet girl pup to be included in the wedding ceremony for a little flair and everyone could not stop talking about how cute she was in her little tutu! 

The Art of Love Styled Shoot

The morning of a wedding can be the most precious time for the bride to connect with her family and friends. So when Melissa, founder of eMBee Events, came to Bloomin’ with the The Art of Love styled shoot we fell in love with her idea to draw focus to these special moments. The shoot was an intimate look into the brides morning before she takes her vows. The bride’s bouquet consisted of soft ivories, pinks, and greenery with pops of cabernet. Our bridesmaids bouquets were a reflection of their individual necklaces, given to them by the bride, to show her appreciation for their support in the past, that day, and the years to come. Each bridesmaid wore a different element. Basil, symbolizing love; Carrot, health; Chili Pepper, strength; and Olive, peace. While incorporating the elements into the bouquets proved to be a challenge we loved what each element symbolized and were thrilled to be a part of such a special shoot.

Spring Foraging Workshop

I’ve been working in the wedding industry for a grand total of five years now. More specifically, working with flowers for two and I’m sorry to say that I had not attended a workshop until this past month. Terrible, I know. In my defense I’ve been focused on the task at hand rather than committing the extra time to networking and learning ventures such as workshops. Nevertheless, Amanda Jewel’s Spring Foraging Workshop opened my eyes to a whole new facet of the creative industry that I was obviously missing out on.  

Amanda grew up on a farm and is simply inspired by nature. She’s been designing flowers since high school and more recently has opened the most mesmerizing studio in Tucker, where her workshop was held. The friends of Johns Park Homestead and Amanda Jewel Floral Design collaborated to host the forging workshop. I asked Amanda what her vision was for the workshop and this is what she said, “I want people to be confident in creating their own masterpiece. It doesn't take skill but it really just takes a whole lot of confidence. My goal is to teach people confidence and knowledge of what is in their own backyard.” 

After spending the first part of the workshop foraging, gathering and creating, we wrapped up the afternoon back at the studio. We ooh'd and ah'd over what Amanda and her team have done with their studio space, nibbling on cheese and crackers, and chatting with other flower lovers. After I left I couldn't stop thinking about the day. I felt very inspired, I made a beautiful spring arrangement, I learned about new foliage, and met some very cool people. Thank you to Amanda Jewel Floral Design for being a huge inspiration and inviting me to my first flower workshop. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.

Modern Luxury Magazine Feature

We were not surprised, but overjoyed to see Drew + Alex's Swan House wedding featured in the February issue of Modern Luxury. Alex had a beautiful eye for the designs she wanted and the colors she chose. We kept things elegant yet modern with ivory tones complimented with rose gold touches. Grant + Jessica had a simple winter wedding at Little River Farms. We loved the combination of Red Campanella Roses with the blush tones of Rose Quicksand and hanging pepper berry for Jessica's bridal bouquet. We just cannot seem to get over the winter reds in bouquets...and we are okay with that because it is always beautiful. (Check out that amazingly large bridal party!)

Matt + Kaitlyn

Matt + Kaitlyn had a rustic wedding at The Foundry. Kaitlyn's vision was to bring the outdoors in for this November wedding. She wanted a woodsy, yet elegant aesthetic in this natural light filled venue. The couple had the arbor custom built and wood stumps that were used throughout the ceremony and reception covered in moss. We loved incorporating the dark red hues of the amaryllis, dahlias and draping pepper berry. Some of our very favorite color combinations for a late fall wedding.

Austin + Cortney

Austin + Cortney had a simple rich toned organic wedding in the fall of 2016. We filled every design with loose flowing greenery and vines. We loved the pops of the deep magenta Scabiosa's against the lighter toned Olive branches. The colors and the tones of the florals, linens, and furniture reminded us  of a Tuscan wedding which just makes our souls happy.

Winter nuptials with natural tones...who wouldn't be excited about a wedding feature with such a beautiful title?! Honored to have Austin + Erin's wedding featured on the Atlanta homepage of Borrowed + Blue this week. This wedding was simply stunning. Austin created a wooden box to house his brides ring as well wooden staves that were placed throughout the entirety of the wedding for candlelight. What a joy it was to find one of our styled shoots featured over on Grey Likes Weddings at the beginning of this new year! Borrowed + Blue Feature!

We are so excited that Robert + Caroline's wedding was featured on Borrowed + Blue last week. This was the absolute sweetest and most laid back couple (with the cutest love story) to work with. They chose a very neutral color palette with pops of color to bring some light into the Stave Room which is a white walled + neutral venue. James + Jean

James + Jean had an elegant wedding at The Swan House just a few months ago. Jean let us know early on that she loves the color purple and wanted it to be incorporated through majority of the day. She also loved statement pieces such as large urn arrangements on the steps of the fountain at the Swan House, a petal designed aisle at the ceremony and a full estate table runner. The whole day was gorgeous and full of color!

"There’s something extra special about a couple who are high school sweethearts. It feels like they have grown up together, their families all know each other and their connection is beautiful. Jordan and Quentin met in the 9th grade and became fast friends. After going their separate ways and reconnecting in college, the rest is a beautiful history. We loved capturing their day at Lake Lanier Islands’ Resort, even through the heat, it was the most perfect day. Jordan and Quentin were so much fun and we loved getting to know their amazing family!"
