April + Alexander

We’re doing a flashback Friday with the blog this week by taking a look at April + Alexander’s wedding from Spring 2020. Using neutral tones and traditional white flowers, we had fun playing with an airy feel to the design work. Bride April had a more minimalistic approach to her special day and we think a little can go a long way when the little is thoughtful and detail oriented. Take a look below for some of our favorite moments from April + Alexander’s special day!

Intimate Wedding, Grand Details

These days we work with a lot of brides facing the difficult decision to downsize their wedding. Between changing venues, altering guest counts and rethinking decor, their spirits remain relatively high (because you know, love + marriage) and we’re in awe of their resiliency!! But along the way in 2020 we did start to notice those brides who utilized a decor budget as if it were still intended for the larger venue ended up happier with the final design outcome of their intimate event. With a smaller guest count, brides are able to spread their flower budget throughout the venue more intentionally and really awe guests from alter arrangements to greenery springs on place settings. It’s all in the details and with a smaller event, every decor element shines that much brighter!

Bloomin’ bride Caroline went through the devastating process of downsizing from a mountain destination wedding, to a private elopement, to a rescheduled intimate wedding on the Marietta Square (we know many brides can relate). While the location, guest count and numerous other details changed 100 times she was very intentional with her floral decor and keeping it lush + flowing throughout the smaller venue. We think the end results speak for themselves, and based on the reactions of her close friends and family so does she! It truly was a beautiful day that still felt as grand as their original wedding plans. Take a look to see how Caroline kept it intimate + dreamy!

Blast from the Past

Fall 2020’s best wedding trend is a blast from the past we can get behind! Full of dried textures and neutral color palettes, we can’t resist the look of an intricate dried floral design. From Pampas Grass, to Thistle and Fern, dried bouquets and boutonnières are a unique way of adding trendy touches to your wedding AND preserving the florals forever! Take a look at this styled shoot we did earlier this year for the perfect boho chic examples of dried wedding florals.

Pandemic + Wedding Vendors

What a crazy year so far, right?!
2020 hasn’t quite gone the way anyone anticipated and acts like kindness and giving grace to ourselves + others has become more important then ever. That’s why we absolutely adore this blog post by Dana Cubbage Weddings. In this post she explains the bind wedding vendors are put in during this pandemic and how a little grace + understanding can go a long way.

An Intimate Garden Wedding

Last May we helped design a small garden wedding for couple Nancy + Haoran at Foxhall Resort’s restaurant The Paddock. While the guest count was only 35 people, Nancy’s floral vision was grand. From ceremony installation to seating chart, every detail of her wedding exuded garden romance. The color palette soft + neutral, this wedding was one for the Bloomin’ books and we’re very excited to be sharing it with all of you today. We hope you enjoy as much as we do!!
