Holy cow! Can you believe it's already May?! Summer is just around the corner but before we move on too quickly from Spring I want to take a look back at the our tulip wedding. Tulips are some of the first flowers to appear after winter, they represent a change of season and warmer days ahead. Needless to say, we get very excited for tulip season around here so when our bride Alissa wanted tulips literally everywhere we couldn't wait to execute her vision. Alissa + Josh were married Easter Weekend. All their closest friends and family joined them in the outdoor ceremony at Summerour Studio, which is pretty spectacular that time of year. Inside tulips hung from the ceiling and decorated every table.

Paulina + Isaac's moody November wedding incorporated some fantastic floral design elements. First feathers, Isaac rocked a feather bow tie on his big day which inspired Bloomin' to use some dramatic feathers in the table arrangements to tie it all together. Second orchids, beautiful dark pink phal orchids, enough said. Third color, we are huge fans of a bold color scheme. Paulina + Isaac chose dramatic reds, dark pinks, and ivory with a surprise twist of muted blues brought in by blue thistle and brunia. Fabulous florals for a fabulous couple! 

Abby + David

Spring is definitely in the air here in Georgia. Everywhere I look I see colorful flowers blooming on branches or popping out from the ground.  All the bright blooms everywhere I can't help but think of Abby + David's colorful outdoor wedding. Abby's bouquet consisted of purple veronica, burgundy dahlias, tulips, and a variety of roses. They had their ceremony outside with an indoor reception to follow. The vibrant colors of the flowers paired beautifully with the french blue and white vases. It was truly a perfect day.

Margaret + Brad

Margaret + Brad celebrated their union back in October at the beautiful Brumby Hall and Gardens in Marietta, Georgia. Margaret's bouquet was a reflection of the garden with blush tone garden roses, drumstick allium, and chocolate cosmos. Despite the rain, the photos turned out lovely.  In fact the rain made the garden all that more lush. 

Inspiration

Bundled up on my couch delighting in the beauty of the snow covering the outside world I think about what I'll look to for inspiration in 2018. More appropriately, what will inspire us at Bloomin'. 

Dried Flowers

Towards the end of last year I noticed dried flowers popping up in arrangements, installations, bouquets, boutiques, mantles. Just about everywhere. Two particular florist come to mind when I think dried flowers, Amanda Jewel of Amanda Jewel Floral + Design and Katie of Ponderosa & Thyme. Both ladies incorporate dried product into their designs and the end result is incredible. The dried brings in an element of texture and muted colors hard to achieve with live product. 

Installations 

Installations are nothing new to Bloomin' but we're always up for a new challenge. Last year we conquered some big installs and learned new ways to tackle them. This year we're feeling inspired to try more unique large scale designs that add a special touch to the most special day. 

Mixed Hues

Don't get me wrong here at Bloomin' we LOVE gold accents but you can only do so much with gold votives, ya feel me? Tablescapes with a mix of golds, silvers, ceramics, & glass or some combination of two or three can be stunning. I know what you're thinking, sounds too busy, but if done right it is pure magic! 

At Bloomin' Bouquets we try to make a habit of trying new things. Part of being in the creative industry is about dabbling in the unfamiliar, pushing your creativity to the next level and tapping into the right hemisphere of your brain. 

Tori + Carter

Tori + Carter were married at the beautiful Cathedral of St. Phillip with reception to follow at Summerour Studio. The couple didn't skip a beat when it came to thinking about every little detail for their special day. From the poptails (yes I said POPtails) to live painting to lush flowers and greenery it was truly a dream come true. 

Lauren + Michael

Lauren + Michael were married at a picturesque church in downtown Dahlonega after the ceremony they celebrated at the equally stunning winery Montaluce. Lauren wanted her bouquet to be unique.   We were able to achieve Lauren's vision by making King Protea the focal point and keeping the stems long, creating the unique look she had envisioned. 

Kasey + Vince Old Edwards Inn

What is more quaint than getting married in an orchard,  I mean seriously? Kasey + Vince said their vows up at the beautiful Old Edwards Inn outside in the orchard a perfect location for their spring wedding.
